Preheat the oven to 170°C. Grease a medium loaf tin with non-stick spray.
1. Dates: Put the dates, bicarbonate of soda and coffee or tea in a pot and cook until the dates are soft. Mash the dates.
2. Cake: Mix all the dry ingredients.In a large bowl, whisk the oil, yoghurt, eggs and vanilla essence together until light. Add the date mixture and mix well.
